Day 13: Friday, October 18 - Edinburgh Bound :)

After a terrible's night sleep - I woke up sick as a dog!!  I had a terrible productive cough, a fever, congestion, and did NOT want to move.  Luckily I love the people I am on rotation with and they certainly took care of me:)  They welcomed me with tea & some Vitamin C - gave me paracetamol (acetaminophen) & Sudafed.  I love it here!

I stuck with the basic events of just doing all the verifying to completely catch them up to date by the second!  When I left, they were literally completely up-to-date with all verifying and ordering and background stuff:)  Ailbhe had a Plan B & Birth control counsel that we did together - but other than that it was a pretty simple day:)

I went home around 430 to get ready for my flight to Scotland!!! Edinburgh this weekend!!!  After showering and packing - we were ready to go to the bus stop at 6pm sharp:)  Elaine kindly drove us to the bus stop which took us to the airport.  We got to the airport at 7pm for our 840 flight!  First time ever we won't be running around like chickens with our heads chopped off!  We get through security only to be told our tickets need to be validated at the RyanAir desk - haha oops- leave it to us!

After validating our tickets - we went back through security!  We passed a liquor store along the way where we noticed the prices of their vodka!  Smirnoff - a fifth, of 750 mL, was €40...uuummmm that's obnoxious!!!  If you were flying to a non-EU country, it was just €17 and called - duty free!  We were shocked!!!

We sat down and had a Pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks because our gate number wouldn't be released until 8pm!  We made it to our gate - and when we booked we accidentally chose priority seating ...this completely explains why our tickets jumped up in price without us knowing/realizing it!  But, we sat in the front row and had absolutely no problems:)

We landed in Edinburgh a short 50 minutes later where we took a bus to our Hostel!  It was a very simple bus ride that dropped us off literally directly in front of the hostel!!  Caledonian Backpackers!!  We checked in literally one second before a group of 25 'Irish' students traveling here for the weekend!  Oh boy!!!

Our room was a typical hostel room - the mattresses were basically newpaper crumbled up and through under sheets...

And my boots decided to rip on the bottom so water constantly leaked in - so smart me- I put a ziploc bag on before my boots to prevent a wet foot:)

We quickly got ready and went to the hostel cafeteria area with the other crowds before going to the streets recommended by the front desk!  Our first stop was a nightlife place called Frankenstein!

It was neat here!  Again, a lot of american music, but every one was very very friendly!  In fact, there were a LOT of stag-do's & hen do's.  Quite the night life area!  Per the recommendation of the bar tender - haha- we went to a Scottish pub that played live music called Drop Kick Murpheys.

It was so fun because there were so many more Stags & Hens - one stag even had a kilt on so we took pictures with him:)

We found £4 pizza we bought before taking a taxi to the hostel!  Great first night & we cannot wait to explore tomorrow!!! :)

Irish/Scottish Words of the Day:  Stag do & Hen do are bachelor and bachelorette :)
